W: How much does a taxi cost?

M: About $20. 

W: That is too expensive. 

M: The subway costs about $8. But I think the subway station is a little too far. Well, you can also take a bus. The No. 4 bus stops just one block away from the Grand Hotel. The bus stop is right over there, in front of the parking lot. The bus costs $1.75, but it’s slower, of course.

M: Have you seen Bill recently?

W: Yes. He’s in hospital with a backache. One morning, he just couldn’t get out of bed. His wife couldn’t drive his car. She called a taxi and it took him to hospital. He’s been there for a few days now.

M: Daisy’s in hospital too. She got food poisoning last week. She thinks she got it from some bad seafood.

W: You have to be very careful with seafood. It tastes lovely, but it often causes upset stomachs. Have you heard anything from Tom?

M: He’s fine, but he had a fever last week. He probably just had a cold.

W: He might be sensitive to something. My niece is sensitive to pets. It looks like a cold, but in fact it’s her cat.

W: We have a small problem, Jim. I just got a call from that Mr. Cervantes at Fireglow. You know they bought five stoves last week. They tested one and the glass in the door broke. 

M: Oh, no. Not again. I thought we had that problem solved. 

W: Were they fitted with that new glass we ordered?

M: No, they were the last ones with the old glass. 

W: So what do we do?

M: Well, he can return the stoves or we can go and put in some new glass. 

W: When can we do that?

M: Of course not. It was our fault anyway.

W: Hello, everyone. Today I’ll introduce you to some of the best places in Egypt. Well, Cairo’s very interesting, but it’s very busy and it would be very hot in summer. The best time to go is really in winter. I really enjoy going by train. You just look at the view all the way along. And when you get up to Qena, there’s a very beautiful temple called Dendera. And then from Qena you can take the bus over to the Red Sea, and travel back along the coast. But the coast is not really quite so nice. It wouldn’t be a very good place to go for a seaside holiday. The best place to go for good beaches is on the other side of Sinai. And Port Saids very interesting, and you can watch all the boats going into the canal. And then from there you can easily take a bus back to Cairo.
